making sense of communication protocols to enable flexibility - sharing international insights - Webinar

The future is electric and flexible!  But how do we introduce more intermittent renewable electricity generation and give consumers the chance to play an increasing role in the operation of the electricity network?

Our joint EEA, EECA and industry project FlexTalk is seeking the answers to those questions.

Join us on February 14th for our latest FlexTalk webinar for a discussion on what's happening internationally in the adoption of open communication protocols to enable demand flexibility in the electricity system, and the latest from the FlexTalk project.

Webinar: FlexTalk: Making sense of communication protocols to enable demand flexibility - sharing international insights

Date: Wednesday 14th February

Time: 9:00am - 10:00am (NZDT)

Presented by: Electricity Engineers Association and EA Technology

Registration:  There is no charge to join the webinar, but you need to register via this link

What's being covered?

We commissioned EA Technology to complete a review on the role of open protocols as a pre-requisite to a fully demand flexible electricity system. They looked at adoption across international markets - who is doing what, why and what does it mean for Aotearoa New Zealand?

In this webinar they will share their findings, conclusions, and recommendations. Their report "International review of open communication/standards or protocols for flexibility management" will be made available to attendees prior to the webinar.

The EEA will also provide an update on the timings for the completion of the FlexTalk project as we close off our live trial and begin to consolidate findings.

There will be time for questions at the end of the presentations.
