DESCRIPTION:Join us at the Air Force Museum of New Zealand in Wigram\, Christchurch for a two-day UAV (Drone) symposium exploring the future of drone use in the electricity supply industry. \nWith UAV technology rapidly evolving\, this symposium brings together regulators\, asset owners\, contractors\, and technology providers to share practical insights and explore how drones can be used safely and effectively across the sector. \nWHO SHOULD ATTEND? \nThis symposium is for anyone involved in\, or exploring\, the use of drones in the electricity supply industry\, from operators and engineers to safety professionals\, regulators\, and technology providers. \n  \nDay 1 – Industry insights and applications \nHear from industry leaders and practitioners on how UAVs are being used today\, including: \n\n\n\n\n\nReal-world applications such as streetlight measurement\, first responder support\, and network operations\nWorkforce capability and training approaches\nData management – how to capture\, store\, and use UAV data effectively\nCase studies from across the ESI\, including Transpower’s drone programme\n\n\n\n\n\nDay 2 – Practical experience and future direction \nDay two focuses on hands-on learning and collaboration: \n\nTechnology displays and live drone demonstrations\nSite visit to Orion’s Norwood Substation to see UAVs in operation\nOpen industry session on “what next” for UAV use in the ESI\n\nThe symposium also supports the development of two new EEA UAV guides\, currently out for industry consultation: \n\nSafe Work with Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs)Best Practices for the Use of Unmanned Aircraft Around Critical Infrastructure Guide\nSafe use of Drones in and around Electricity Assets Guide\n\nThis is an opportunity to connect with others across the sector\, learn from current practice\, and help shape the future direction of UAV use in the electricity supply industry. \nWHERE IS IT? \nDay one: Will be held at the Wigram Airforce Museum\, 45 Harvard Avenue\, Christchurch \nDay two:  Will start at and end at Wigram Airforce Museum\, with a Site Visit to Orion’s Norwood Substation (Transport Provided) \nWHO SHOULD ATTEND? \nThis symposium is for anyone involved in\, or exploring\, the use of drones in the electricity supply industry\, from operators and engineers to safety professionals\, regulators\, and technology providers. \nRegistration \nFollow the link below to register for this forum. \nMember rate:  $600 + GST per person (two‑day)
