SUMMARY:ESI Workforce Capability Summit 2026
DESCRIPTION:New Zealand’s energy transition will not be won with infrastructure and technology alone.  It will be won — or lost — by the people we develop\, attract\, and keep. \nRe-Energise 26 has made the case with evidence.  It has identified 14 key findings\, busted some long-held assumptions\, and laid out a clear Industry Skills Action Plan (ISAP) structured around four pillars: Attract\, Develop\, Collaborate\, and Retain. Since its launch\, the report has generated significant conversation — across media\, across the industry\, and in the rooms where workforce decisions get made. \nNow it’s time to move. \nThe Inaugural ESI Workforce Capability Summit is the moment the Industry Skills Action Plan stops being a document and starts being a programme for the electricity supply industry.   It’s where industry\, government\, education and service providers sit down together to better coordinate our existing and future activity and commit to shared priorities and action. \nThis is not a conference.  There are no passive seats. \nIf you’re coming to listen and leave\, this isn’t the event for you.  If you’re coming ready to roll up your sleeves\, represent your organisation\, and take shared ownership of our electricity sector’s workforce future — we need you in the room. \nWhat to Expect\nThe ESI Workforce Capability Summit is where participants will shape priorities\, agree on leads\, and define what success looks like by the end of 2026.   The Summit will be a focused\, working day on Auckland’s waterfront. \nView and/or download the ESI Workforce Capability Summit 2026 – Flyer here. \nWho Should Attend\nThe 2026 Summit is for people with their organisation’s mandate to act\, not just an interest in the topic.  We’re looking for: \n\nWorkforce planners and people leaders from electricity supply industry organisations\nSenior executives and operational leaders from across generation\, networks\, contracting\, retail\, consulting\, technology\, and related industries\nGovernment and regulatory representatives with a stake in electricity sector workforce and skills policy\nEducation and training providers working with the electricity supply industry\nRelevant industry association leaders and sector bodies\n\nIf your organisation has a role to play in building the workforce New Zealand’s electricity supply industry needs\, then your organisation should have someone in this room.  Numbers are capped\, so only one person per organisation (or department for larger organisations) please. \n\nRegistration\nFollow the link below to register for this forum.
