EEA Photo Competition 2020

Firstly, a big thank you to all of our members that took the time to submit an entry into our inaugural photo competition. We received some amazing images and the voting results were quite close between those that came out on top. We also received a number of comments from our members who submitted their votes on how hard it was to choose and the great calibre of entries.

Secondly, we also want to thank the members that took the time to review the images and submit their votes. Without this level of participation we would not have a successful result to share with you.

Finally, we are planning to hold this competition again in 2021 so next time you are out and about, get snapping as you may just capture the next winning image.

The Results

Winner - The winning image was submitted by Bill Alhambra of Wellington Electricity. The image description is 'Overhead Line Refurbishment at Golans Valley, Wainuiomata'. Bill's winning image will be used on the EEA 2019/2020 Annual Report cover and Bill will also receive a complimentary delegate registration for the EEA2021 Conference in Wellington.

Second - The image that came in second in the voting results was submitted by Agnes Canita also of Wellington Electricity. The image description is 'Tri-Pole work at Mount Climie, Wellington. Well done Agnes and we would like to make a special mention here that it is now proven that you cannot beat Wellington on a great day :)

Third - The third image that received the most member votes goes to Ron Coleman from Powerco for his very artistic image described as 'View taken at bottom of a transmission tower looking upwards'.
