A leader for Aotearoa New Zealand’s energy industry, providing expert electricity system engineering, technical, and safety advice that is pan industry, innovative, inclusive, and trusted.
Advocating for our industry
The Electricity Engineers’ Association (EEA) provides an ‘electricity supply industry voice’ to the Government, regulators, stakeholders, professional bodies and the media.
We work with and represent over 76 corporate member organisations and more than 550 individual professional members. These include Chief Executives, senior engineering/technical managers, engineering and field staff, health and safety managers working in network, generation and electricity retail companies, contractors, consultants and equipment suppliers.
The issues we cover focus on engineering, technical, and health and safety.
Connecting the industry and building capability
We facilitate independent forums to enable debate and engagement on industry, engineering, technical and safety issues.
The EEA Conference, courses, and workshops are important events for engaging with members and other industry stakeholders.
We organises professional development training for industry staff and has developed close relationships with a number of New Zealand, Australian and United Kingdom power engineering schools and safety training providers to offer leading-edge professional development training and resources to New Zealand engineers.
Publication and standards development
We provide an extensive range of publications for the industry and public use, including technical and safety guides and standards, safety and asset management resources, industry reports and links to relevant legislation and international information.
We also actively represent New Zealand in the national and international standard development process and facilitate bench-marking in safety and asset management.
