Industry training survey
Outcomes of an industry-wide survey undertaken in 2019 are summarised below.
The results have been categorised into seven areas. This data will help us understand the make-up of the industry, what professional development areas the industry would like to focus on now and into the future.
- Who we are – the age profile, roles and makeup of the industry;
- Qualifications and recruiting – the qualifications held, where they were gained and recruitment issues;
- Competence – summarises competency frameworks and identifies behavioural and technical competences organisations are looking for;
- Training areas – key training areas identified;
- Our current development approach – how we are currently training and developing our people;
- Future roles – participants provided a view on the roles that are required over the next ten years.

Electricity Supply Industry Safety Statistics
The ESI Safety Performance Indicators are available to electricity supply asset owners that are current contributors to their production.
The reports highlight industry and sector trends in injury frequency and severity rates, while comparing those with WorkSafe targets. While historically the industry has focused on reporting Lost Time Injury data, EEA encouraged in 2014/15 a move towards Total Recordable Injury reporting, in an effort to benchmark relative safety performance more objectively and to align with similar industries overseas.
The reports are supplemented with a benchmarking spreadsheet, which includes individual and anonymous company data, benchmarked by industry and peer groups, for use internally.
This information is only available to those who submitted data for the reports.
