Hi Stephen,

We require a hard hat for all work sites including excavations, trenches, pits etc, irrespective of depth. We have made an exception when working inside substation buildings, cabinets, and confined or constricted environments where hard hats may restrict access as determined by a risk assessment. In that case, bump caps are worn instead. This has worked well to date.
