Hi Jon,

We have gone through a few iterations of communication systems, including some of the other suggestions in this feed and the connection via Tait radio’s. This system does connect to the Tait radio which provided further benefit to this choice of unit. We also wanted to ensure that staff could continue to utilise their safety helmets. We have settled on the installation of Cardo headsets which are made for motorcycle use. I have attached some images for reference. We use these for our Arborists, and for Helicopter work. These units use a meshing system which allows coverage up to 1.5 km’s (I think) far superior to blue tooth connectivity. They seem to be much more durable than the other systems we have used in the past as we aren’t having to replace parts regularly. The Arborists use these every day, where as our other teams use them on an as needed basis so we have a set of 7 specifically set up for that purpose. We did go through a process before we settled on this unit. We have had to make some minor adjustments to the hearing protection we clip to the helmets to make this work.
