We use private locks but this can lead to issues over shift changes. This is currently being reviewed by our control room Obviously some equipment cant be physically locked off i.e. gas O/H switches can be locked but only by virtue of their design (pull lever and half turn.) Ours are then tagged physically in the field with a wrap around Velcro DNO tag and tagged as part of the safety logic within our NMS
