Join an EEA Standing Committee and influence industry outcomes

We are currently seeking new members to join our influential standing committees – the National Committee for Live Work and the Public Safety Working Group.

This is your chance to contribute to innovation and influence how live work and public safety are delivered across the industry.

Members of our standing committees are the powerhouse of delivery that make the EEA what it is.  They provide advice to the EEA Executive Committee on a range of issues that impact your day-to-day delivery. They develop, review and deliver the technical guides and procedures that you all follow in your day-to-day work and provide input into submissions.  They also host networking and learning events during the year.

The opportunity to join a committee is rare, however a few of our stalwarts have moved on in recent months so now is your chance.  We are committed to ensuring the makeup of our committees reflect the diversity of our industry which means we want to hear from as many of you as possible whether you are an engineer, health and safety expert, someone involved in training and development, or a communications or marketing guru.

We are recruiting to fill vacancies on the following committees.

National Committee for Live Work – chaired by Geoff Thorburn, PowerNet

Members of the NCLW collaborate across the electricity supply industry and with other key stakeholders to connect the industry to coordinate, collaborate and develop consensus outcomes to promote safe live work principles and practices, and solve live work issues, while enhancing safety, technical capability and compliance, sharing knowledge, and promoting standardisation.

We are seeking expressions of interest from people who can provide leadership, guidance, and expertise to support continual improvement in high voltage and low voltage live work activities in the electricity supply industry, in both overhead and underground work.

Public Safety Working Group – chaired by Zoe Jamieson, Powerco

We are seeking expressions of interest from people who can help us deliver safety campaigns to the wider public, and to support our member companies with best practice guidance on public safety issues.

Your expertise might be in health and safety, operations, or it could be in, communications or social marketing!
