Hi Amber, we use TR Driver Training and they run a one day non-unit standard course and can also customise something if need be.

    Afternoon Amber.

Agree with the TR Group recommendation. Their training’s based around and in collaboration with Pete and Amy Ritchie from Natural Instincts. My advice would be think about why your undertaking the 4WD course. Vehicle recovery is often an integral part of this along with heavy vehicles off road and on gravel.

We have used Forestry Training NZ (FTNZ) for a one day non-NZQA workplace LUV course. It was delivered in the Mamaku’s focused on can am machines. Covered off:

    – manufacturers recommendations and legislative requirements for LUV use

    – daily checks, TCLOC and PPE

    – practical hazard identification and safety margin assessments

    – Vehicle functions, controls and technology

    – operating on flat and undulating terrain

    – failure to climb technique

    – basic ascending/descending techniques

    – operating withe passengers

    – loading/unloading on/off trailers

    – securing to trailers

    Hope this helps.
