    Where does your company use these besides work on de-energised and earthed HV lines. EDO switching using insulated sticks and RMU/ABS switching at 11kV? Line of thought is it’s not stipulated in the SM-EI and the voltage line to earth is 6.35 kV.

    We use class 1 as you describe – HV shuts, earthing, single phase HV operation

      Given I had yours G, I was hoping for a little more industry feedback. We are proposing to include 11kV three phase operations as the line to earth voltage is only 6.35kV

        <div>Hi Bill, TE requirements:</div>

        a) Minimum class 00 when accessing, operating, testing, earthing or working on all LV equipment that has not had earths applied at all isolation points including all sources of potential inadvertent livening

        b) Minimum class 1 when operating, testing or earthing all 11kv HV equipment

        c) Minimum class 2 when operating, testing or earthing all 33kv HV equipment

    We are currently looking into this as part of revising our PPE Guide.

    Will post here following our review of the applicable standard, when I get hold of it.

    Note ECP 46 2.6.8 & 2.6.9 gives some guidance but not sure if this applies to just live line or across the board
