Critical Risk Framework & Controls

  • Critical Risk Framework & Controls

    Hi Team,

Apologies if the question has already been asked but I couldn’t find anything in the forums to-date.

What are others using for evaluating, developing, implementing, and monitoring their critical risk frameworks and controls?

Is anyone able to share their current framework or critical risk lists, how you got to that point etc?
Any help appreciated as always, just looking to align with others/industry as much as possible without reinventing the wheel 🙂

    Regards Shaun

Kia ora Shaun, I hope the new job is going well!

We are currently reviewing and updating the EEA Critical Risk Guide, work hasn’t quite started but we have a working group and an idea on what the plan is, which is

    • Identify any changes to industry critical risks – through last year’s survey, working group input, and the HSW Act. (Amendment Bill)
    • Identify controls, especially critical controls – from Legislation, Standards, WorkSafe Guidance, EEA Guides etc.
    • Provide guidance on critical risk assessment tools (Energy wheel, Bow tie)
    • Provide guidance on monitoring and verification of Controls
    • Recommendations for Reporting
    • Feed into ESI Safety Performance Indicators Report

As well as the industry working group, our first step is to workshop this at the Health and Safety Workshop in Christchurch in August.
