EWRB – Employer to pay option removed

    Kia ora koutou,

I am wondering how other EDB’s are going forward with the EWRB removing the option for employers to pay via their new portal.

For us, it is a major pain to now do 100+ personal reimbursement forms.

Are there other EDB’s who would be interested in putting some pressure on MBIE to include the old functionality?

    Hi Rob,

Yes, we at Network Waitaki agree with your statement, and would be happy to help.

    Morning Rob

I posted this same issue back on 1 October on EWRB changes. When they first mooted the changes, I emailed Susan from MBIE last year pushing our case and the EDI industries. The response was they would consider it. The announcing email in my post, they’ve basically given the employers the bird. They don’t want a relationship with the employers. They want it with the electrical workers. Already our employees have had issues with the EWRB’s new web site – double charging, not able to get past certain stages. Currently we have two unlicensed staff as a result and they’re still struggling to get sense out of the EWRB because every time you email them, you get a different responder (with no last name). They could take a book out of other government agencies and have a case manager.

    Regards

Perhaps I could count up the number of Electrical Workers this affects in our industry as leverage for a conversation with the EWRB?

    Morning Rob

We’ve got 129 registered staff or trainees in our business. Unfortunately the EWRB has made it clear they don’t want a relationship with the employers, just the employees. From their perspective it’s done and dusted. Anyone mates with Mel Orange?

    Regards

    Bill
