Polarity testing

Interested in what other companies are doing to manage the following example:

Distribution Pillar gets hit and needs replacing. Two connected service mains supplied from the same pillar. One premises has an out side meter board, the other is internal.

We replace the pillar, during this process we have disconnected the service main neutrals.

We liven and test the premises with the outside meter board.

We cant do a polarity on the second premises as no access to meter board and no one home.

Do we leave the second premises disconnected and leave a note for the customer to call when they get home ?

What if they are on holiday and come back a week later to a smelly house and rotten freezer stock ?

Apparently some new builds are installing a combination type meter board and sub board that are internal so if this is correct we need to all be on the same page to address this issue.

    Hi Paul

We would not re-liven if we can’t carry out a polarity test.

Reasonable endeavors would be undertaken to notify the consumer, but this is the reason why the consumers connection point needs to be accessible.

(remember that the retailers agreement with the consumer have statements similar to ‘uninterruptable supply of electricity cannot be guaranteed’).
