Pulling Pole Fuse for a disconnect

  • Pulling Pole Fuse for a disconnect

    Hey All,

Is there any guidance or requirements for actions that need to be taken when pulling a pole fuse for a non-payment or is it organisation specific.

If a fuse is pulled so a contractor can work on a property a pole wrap should be used to ensure it is not re-livened. If it is pulled and the contractor pulling the fuse does not know when they will be back or if it will be a different contractor a padlocked pole wrap may not be the best option.

    Any ideas?

    Cheers

    Hi Rhys,

We have introduced “Temporary disconnection/reconnection tags” which are required to be attached to the fuse holder, they have required information to be filled out.

    Planned reconnection Date:

Hi Rhys, Powerco and therefore us, Downer, also use a Isolation/Disconnection tag. The tag is attached as close as practical to the removed fuse or disconnected jumper. It does need to be filled out with information like, Date, Person doing work, Why and if there are requirements prior to re-connection, COC, ROI, Testing etc.

Part of the tag is also left with the customer to explain why the supply is off,

As we don’t do non-payment DC this has not been an issue.

We are the same as the above with regard to Isolation/Disconnection tags – especially with the bit that is either given to the customer, or taped to their meter box if unoccupied.
