    Hi Brent

As we have not mandated vaccination at this time, we have been looking hard at this as a way to dispel the ‘unvaxxed = unsafe’ commentary (as we don’t have Covid in the local community yet both vaxxed and unvaxxed are equally safe).

We believe that RATs will be an important surveillance tool for when Covid strikes Ashburton, and are putting together a process based on the MOH flow chart.

We think the self-administration at home is a better process, as they can’t infect any other workers, and we don’t have to set up testing faculties etc.

    Cheers

    Stephen.

Everyone here has to be double vaxxed (or terminated.) Three gone all up. We have been using saliva testing for persons crossing the border and for myself and my offsider (once a week) as we’ve been working across the three work bubbles. Two sites have mandated vaccination and RAT testing – Contact and Genesis. Heard anecdotally that accuracy can be down to 50% depending on who’s administering the test
