Hey we are considering building a wellness metric by combining 4 stats and watching for movement.

We want to use the following and as averages per person

    – Annual Leave balance

    – Sick leave taken

    – EAP spend

    – Staff turnover

Is anyone already measuring wellbeing and if so how?

    Gidday Matt

We measure a range of these things and report on averages, but identify outliers pretty quickly. The monthly dashboard includes:

    Annual leave
    Absenteeism /sick leave usage
Voluntary and non voluntary attrition rates, and a couple of other around new hire and first year voluntary termination.

We do an annual review of EAP usage. And one other measurement we’ve introduced is wellbeing checks, with people leaders having KPI’s to record wellbeing related conversations (anonymising the info) they’ve had with their people, particularly those who’ve been working remotely. This is done through a Vault observation.

Our Board are particularly interested in wellbeing and mental health, and our reporting needs to reflect that.

Good luck on your journey, I’ll be interested to hear how it goes.

    Cheers

    Marty
