PSMS annual review

    Morning all.

Just wondering if anyone has a good contact who can carry out an external review of our PSMS? This is outside of the Telarc audit.

We’ve been doing it as an internal review annually which apparently doesn’t meet the requirement in 7901 i.e., we’re not formally trained or qualified as auditors. Short term problem we need to cover this year.

Feel free to email me directly, thanks in advance.

I am definitely interested in this as well. We have the Certification audit set for August and have not completed this part.

Hi. My thoughts on this is having another external auditor doesnt add any real value to what Telarc already do (an external auditor). The intent of an internal audit is that you know your business better than anyone so you are in the best position for auditing it knowing what you know about your systems and processes. ie you cant hide anything from yourself.

7901:2014 6.2.4 talks about the competency an auditor should have. e) undertaken an appropriate internal auditing course. But 6.2.4 is a “should” not a “shall” so failing this point should only ever become an OI, not a PA.

That in mind here’s a few things google found for me

    nzoq.org.nz (Lead Auditor Training)

    ianz.govt.nz Internal Auditing for Accreditaion.

Either of these should do the trick.

Cheers Warren, I tend to agree with your summation. Given we’re transitioning from 2008 to 2014, some fresh eyes might be useful before the Telarc visit though, thanks for the links.
